Softball Recap: Red Level Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Red Level barely beat Elba the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Red Level put the hurt on Elba with a sharp 10-3 victory on Thursday. Considering Red Level has won eight matchups by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Caroline Blackwell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on six hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Emmie Snider was incredible, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Payten Martin, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

The win (which was Red Level's fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Elba, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season.

Red Level will take on Georgiana at 4:30 a.m. on Monday. As for Elba, they will take on Highland Home in a tournament on Friday.
