Soccer Recap: Powell Comes Up Short

Powell lost against Oak Ridge back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Panthers fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 1-0. One thing that didn't help Powell's chances was the red card they were dealt courtesy of Benjamin Franse.

Powell's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5-2. As for Oak Ridge, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-7-1.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Powell is set to face off against their familiar foe Halls at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Oak Ridge will take on rival Knoxville Central at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
