Soccer Game Preview: West Orange vs. Edgewater

The West Orange Warriors and the Edgewater Eagles will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Edgewater took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on West Orange, who comes in off a win.

West Orange is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They were the clear victor by an 8-1 margin over Orangewood Christian on Monday. Considering the Warriors have won six games by more than two goals this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Edgewater managed to keep up with Lake Mary until halftime on Monday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Edgewater might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Lake Mary an easy 4-0 victory. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 146th, while the Rams are ranked 19th).

West Orange has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 33 goals over those six contests. As for Edgewater, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-5-3.

West Orange beat Edgewater by a goal in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, winning 2-1. Will West Orange repeat their success, or does Edgewater have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
