Volleyball Recap: Alcuin Wins Going Away Against Cambridge

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Ovilla Christian, Alcuin was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Cambridge Lions. The Hawks haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Alcuin took every set by at least 15 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-6, 25-10, 25-5.

Greer Smith paced Alcuin's offense, picking up 20 kills. Smith got some help from Naomi Panhans and her 29 assists. Smith was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Alcuin's win bumped their record up to 18-4. As for Cambridge, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Alcuin has already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Garland Christian Academy on the 23rd. As for Cambridge, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Ovilla Christian on the 23rd.
