Basketball Recap: Coronado Takes a Loss

Coronado was the 27-24 winner over Glendale when they last played one another back in November of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Coronado Dons were dealt a 59-28 defeat at the hands of the Glendale Cardinals on Wednesday.

Despite the loss, Coronado saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Aundrea Rodriguez posted 21 points. Another player making a difference was Kailyn Holsey, who had four points and five steals.

Coronado's defeat dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Glendale, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-2.

Coronado is taking a road trip to face off against Saguaro at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Coronado is facing Saguaro at the right time seeing as Saguaro is stuck on a four-game losing streak. Glendale has already played their next matchup, a 32-16 loss against Sierra Linda on the 17th.
