Basketball Recap: Mercer Piles Up the Points Against Linn County

Mercer can finally bid farewell to their six-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Linn County Mustangs 56-16. The Cardinals' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Mercer's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Linn County, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mercer will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Princeton at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Linn County also won't see the court for a while: their next matchup is against Keytesville at 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
