Basketball Game Preview: Morse Shipbuilders vs. Oceanside Mariners

Morse hasn't had much luck against Oceanside recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Shipbuilders will take on the Mariners at 6:30 p.m. Morse will be strutting in after a victory while Oceanside will be coming in after a defeat.

Having struggled with three losses in a row, Morse turned things around against Waynflete on Monday. They walked away with a 64-52 win over the Flyers.

Meanwhile, Oceanside ended up a good deal behind Gardiner on Tuesday and lost 69-50. While losing is never fun, the Mariners can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maine basketball rankings (they are ranked 44th, while the Tigers are ranked fifth).

Morse's victory bumped their record up to 5-8. As for Oceanside, they now have a losing record of 7-8.

Morse came up short against Oceanside in their previous matchup back in December of 2025, falling 62-57. Can the Shipbuilders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
