Recap: Riverside Generals vs. Menendez Falcons
The Riverside Generals's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fifth straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 56-34 walloping at the hands of Menendez. While losing is never fun, Riverside can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 351st, while Menendez is ranked 118th).
Dasani Newsome was a one-man wrecking crew for Menendez as she went 6 for 7 from beyond the arc en route to 22 points and 1 assist. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Newsome has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Scibelli, who scored seven points along with five rebounds.
Riverside has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season. As for Menendez, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-6.

Matanzas has now lost nine straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 12.
