Baseball Game Preview: Seaford Bluejays vs. First State Military Academy Bulldogs

The Seaford Bluejays will face off against the First State Military Academy Bulldogs at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Seaford is coming into the match on a six-game losing streak.

Seaford fell victim to Indian River and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Indians.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for First State Military Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Newark with a sharp 13-6 win on Thursday.

Alex Bright made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with three runs and two RBI. He has become a key player for First State Military Academy: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 0-4 otherwise.

In other batting news, First State Military Academy let Steven Bright and Jacob Porrini run wild. Bright went 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Porrini went 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. First State Military Academy is undefeated when Bright posts two or more runs, but 1-4 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Belford, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

Seaford's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for First State Military Academy, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Seaford has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like First State Military Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.1 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Seaford came out on top in a nail-biter against First State Military Academy when the teams last played back in March of 2024, sneaking past 3-1. Will the Bluejays repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
