Baseball Recap: Walker-Hackensack-Akeley Extends Winning Streak to Seven

Walker-Hackensack-Akeley waltzed into their matchup on Friday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Kelliher/Northome Mustangs a 14-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Wolves, who have now won four games by ten runs or more so far this season.

Walker-Hackensack-Akeley pushed their record up to 7-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Kelliher/Northome, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-5.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Walker-Hackensack-Akeley will square off against rival Nevis at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Wolves 3.8, the Tigers 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Kelliher/Northome is set to take on their familiar foe Pine River-Backus at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
