For the second straight game, Pershing County will face off against Yerington. Pershing County will be playing in front of their home fans against Yerington at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Pershing County is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.

Last Monday, Pershing County came up short against Yerington and fell 9-4.

For Yerington's part, Valor Angle made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, Angle gave up only zero walks, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

In other pitching news, Toby Juarez looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, Colby Rowe was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Erick Juarez was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Yerington has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.2 runs over those games. Pershing County dropped their record down to 5-8 with the loss, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. Pershing County has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Yerington struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
