Basketball Game Preview: Combs Coyotes vs. Eastmark Firebirds

The Combs Coyotes will square off against the Eastmark Firebirds at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Combs is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.4 points per game this season.

Eastmark is facing Combs at the wrong time: Combs suffered their first home loss of the season on Friday and they're likely out for redemption. They lost to the Padres at home by a 66-48 margin. The Coyotes have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The match pitted two dominant forwards against one another in Quinmetris Cunningham and James Steward. Steward had a great game and dropped a double-double on 30 points and 14 boards. Meanwhile, Cunningham did his best for the losing side, putting up nine points and seven rebounds.

Meanwhile, Eastmark was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. The game between them and ALA - Gilbert North didn't end well, with Eastmark falling 72-58. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Monday (56), the Firebirds still had to take the loss.

Combs' loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 10-8. As for Eastmark, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 10-8.

Combs came out on top in a nail-biter against Eastmark in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, sneaking past 66-64. Will Combs repeat their success, or does Eastmark have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
