Football Recap: Aurora West College Prep Academy Comes Up Short

Aurora West College Prep Academy extended their losing streak to three on Wednesday, dropping them down to 1-4. They were beaten by the Northglenn Norsemen 69-0. The Spartans were not able to make up for their loss to the Norsemen from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

Gay Thome threw for 63 yards while completing 72.7% of her passes. Setou Sy was her top target, picking up 35 receiving yards. On the ground, Clementine Uwamahoro rushed for 45 yards.

As for Northglenn, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-2. The game marked their most dominant win of the season so far.

It was another big night for Kaitlyn Fujinami, who threw for 139 yards and four touchdowns while completing 82.4% of her passes, and also rushed for 100 yards and one TD on only nine carries. What's more, she racked up 144.4 passer rating, the most she's had since back in October of 2024. Leah Jaimes was another key player, picking up 92 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Coming up, Aurora West College Prep Academy will take on Aurora Central at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Spartans will be up against the Trojans' rather soft defense (which has allowed 26.5 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Northglenn, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 26-0 victory against Thornton on the 13th.
