Basketball Recap: Cypress Creek Falls Despite Big Games from Kason Beezer and Alikai Creque

Cypress Creek lost against Winter Park back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Cypress Creek Bears came up short against the Winter Park Wildcats, falling 63-37. While losing is never fun, the Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 304th, while the Wildcats are ranked 47th).

Cypress Creek's loss came despite strong showings from Alikai Creque and Kason Beezer. Creque posted 15 points and four steals, while Beezer earned 15 points and three steals. The dominant performance gave Creque a new career-high in steals.

Cypress Creek moved to 8-12 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Winter Park, they pushed their record up to 12-6 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home.

Cypress Creek will square off against Tohopekaliga at 7:00 p.m. on January 22nd. Cypress Creek is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.2 points per game this season. Winter Park has already played their next matchup, a 42-36 victory against Timber Creek on the 15th.
