Baseball Game Preview: Laguna Hills Hawks vs. Santa Ana Valley Falcons

It'll be a Battle of the Birds when Laguna Hills Hawks take on Santa Ana Valley Falcons at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Laguna Hills's pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so Santa Ana Valley's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Laguna Hills is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Downers Grove South on Monday as Laguna Hills made off with a 12-3 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Hawks considering their two-run performance the game before.

Laguna Hills got a great performance from Owen Rose as he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Rose has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Christian Sigaty was a standout: he scored two runs while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February. Noe Garcia was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Santa Ana Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 21-1 to Bolsa Grande.

Santa Ana Valley saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ayden Serrano, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Santa Ana Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Laguna Hills, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-7.
