Baseball Recap: Malone Takes a Loss

Malone was the 10-0 winner over Poplar Springs when they last played one another last Friday, but their luck changed this time around. The Malone Tigers fell just short of the Poplar Springs Atomics by a score of 5-4 on Thursday. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Kris Smith made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Khalil Garrett, who got no hits from his three at bats.

Malone's record now sits at 4-6. As for Poplar Springs, their record is now 4-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Malone will challenge Wewahitchka at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Wewahitchka will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Malone surely won't give up without a fight. Poplar Springs will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Bethlehem at 6:00 p.m. on March 25th.
