Baseball Recap: San Luis Takes a Loss

If San Luis was riding high fresh off their 12-0 takedown of Imperial on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The San Luis Sidewinders took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Brawley Wildcats on Thursday. The loss was the Sidewinders' first of the season.

San Luis got a good showing from Diego Ruiz, who tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. What's more, Ruiz posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March of 2024.

Having lost for the first time this season, San Luis fell to 2-1. As for Brawley, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Brawley beat San Luis by a score of 6-5 later that day.
