Basketball Recap: Calhoun/Brussels Comes Up Short

Calhoun/Brussels has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 52-46 heartbreaker at the hands of the Carrollton Hawks. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hawks apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Carrollton can attribute much of their success to Abby Flowers, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance gave Flowers a new career-high in points. Harper Darr was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Calhoun/Brussels' defeat dropped their record down to 23-6. As for Carrollton, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 24-7 record this season.

Calhoun/Brussels does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Carrollton, they will head out on the road to take on West Central co-op [Winchester-Bluffs] at 7:30 p.m. on February 17th.
