Basketball Recap: Maypearl Takes a Loss

If Maypearl was feeling good fresh off their 56-35 takedown of Rice last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Panthers took a 71-65 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Palmer Bulldogs on Wednesday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Thursday (56), the Panthers still had to take the loss.

Maypearl's defeat dropped their record down to 14-12. As for Palmer, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Maypearl will take on rival Keene at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Palmer is set to square off against their familiar foe Blooming Grove at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
