Basketball Recap: Landmark Comes Up Short

Landmark was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by the Berwick Academy Bulldogs 77-45. If the Vikings were looking for revenge after losing 63-41 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Berwick Academy was led to victory by Noah Daniel and Brandon Ventura. Daniel went 14 for 26 on his way to 33 points in addition to five assists and five rebounds, while Ventura dropped a double-double on 28 points and ten boards. That makes it eight consecutive games in which Daniel has scored at least a third of Berwick Academy's points. Another player making a difference was Greg Leggett, who posted eight points.

Landmark's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Berwick Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-10.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Landmark will host Bancroft at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Berwick Academy, they will be playing at home against Lee Academy at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Berwick Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.8 points per game this season.
