Basketball Recap: Gabrielino Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Gabrielino can now relate to. They fell 68-61 to the Saddleback Roadrunners on Tuesday. While the Eagles didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Roadrunners 12-3 in the first quarter.

It was another big night for Christopher Trotter, who went 13-for-31 en route to 44 points and seven boards for Saddleback. That makes it five consecutive games in which Trotter has scored at least a third of Saddleback's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Karstein George, who posted six points and ten rebounds.

Gabrielino's loss dropped their record down to 15-12. As for Saddleback, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-13 record this season.

Gabrielino does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Saddleback, they will take on Arroyo at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Saddleback is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.3 points per game this season.
