Recap: Stargate School Eagles vs. DSST: Cedar Falcons
The Stargate School Eagles won the last time they faced the DSST: Cedar Falcons, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Stargate School walked away with a 60-50 win over DSST: Cedar.
It was another big night for Dylan Perkins, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 15 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Rusch, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
DSST: Cedar lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Simon Alexander, who scored 17 points along with two steals. That's the first time this season that Alexander scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Ilyas Elmi, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds.
Stargate School's victory bumped their record up to 7-4. As for DSST: Cedar, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-8.
Stargate School won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Manual at 7:30 p.m. on January 24th. Manual knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 12 contests -- so hopefully Stargate School likes a good challenge. As for DSST: Cedar, they will head out on the road to take on Windsor Charter Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Windsor Charter Academy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than DSST: Cedar in Colorado (Windsor Charter Academy is ranked 62nd, while DSST: Cedar is ranked 228th).
