Baseball Recap: Aquinas Academy Comes Up Short

Friday just wasn't the day for Aquinas Academy's offense. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Carrick Raiders on Friday. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Crusaders' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Aquinas Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Carrick, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-6 record this season.

Aquinas Academy has already played their next match, a 3-2 loss against Rochester on the 5th. As for Carrick, they will take on Perry Traditional Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Commodores have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 19.8 runs per game on average), something the Raiders will no doubt try to take advantage of.
