Basketball Recap: Clarksburg Picks Up Third Straight Win at Home

Clarksburg won against Quince Orchard last Monday with 50 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. The Clarksburg Coyotes secured a 50-46 W over the Seneca Valley Screamin' Eagles. The win continues a trend for the Coyotes in their matchups with the Screamin' Eagles: they've now won five in a row.

Seneca Valley's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Danika Barnes, who almost dropped a double-double with 12 points and nine boards. What's more, Barnes also posted a 71% field goal percentage, which is the highest she's achieved since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jayden Addison, who posted 13 points and five rebounds.

Clarksburg pushed their record up to 15-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Seneca Valley, their defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-3.

Clarksburg and Seneca Valley should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Maryland Rankings. Clarksburg (ranked 44th) will meet Gaithersburg (ranked 171st) on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Seneca Valley will face off against Watkins Mill at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday up 226 places (43 vs. 269).
