Baseball Recap: Roosevelt Takes a Loss

Monday just wasn't the day for Roosevelt's offense. They fell 4-0 to the Highland Hornets on Monday. The game marked the first time this season in which the Rough Riders were not able to get on the board.

Tristyn Page was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off nine hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

Roosevelt has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Highland, their victory bumped their record up to 12-2.

While Roosevelt had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
