Basketball Game Preview: Evergreen Cougars vs. Mountain Vista Golden Eagles

The Evergreen Cougars will face off against the Mountain Vista Golden Eagles at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Evergreen will be strutting in after a victory while Mountain Vista will be coming in after a loss.

It was a proper cat-fight when Evergreen took on Summit on Saturday. The Cougars took down the Tigers 43-28. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cougars.

Elle Buenning had a dynamite game, dropping a double-double with 19 points and 16 rebounds. She has been hot, having also posted three or more steals the last six times she's played. Another player making a difference was Ryn Gardner, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and nine boards.

Evergreen smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 25 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds every time they've taken the court this season.

Meanwhile, Mountain Vista came up short against Mead on Saturday, falling 72-47.

Evergreen now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Mountain Vista, they dropped their record down to 0-2 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.
