Basketball Recap: Meadowcreek Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

Meadowcreek won the last time they faced Parkview and things went their way on Saturday too. The Meadowcreek Mustangs snuck past the Parkview Panthers with a 60-54 victory. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 50th, while the Panthers are ranked 333rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meadowcreek had a senior duo take command as Jayson Fleming went 6 of 10 to rack up 19 points and Christian Carr posted 14 points. Another player making a difference was Fred Williams, who scored nine points.

Meadowcreek has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season. As for Parkview, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-22.

Meadowcreek didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 55-45 loss against Peachtree Ridge on the 10th. Parkview does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
