Massaponax won the last time they faced Stafford and things went their way on Friday too. The Massaponax Panthers came out on top against the Stafford Indians by a score of 68-57. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 115th, while the Indians are ranked 243rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Massaponax's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Christian Hooks, who went 5-for-7 on his way to 12 points and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Collin Bowles, who went 5-for-12 en route to 13 points.

Hooks wasn't the only one working in the assist department: Massaponax was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Stafford only racked up seven assists.

When it comes to explaining why Stafford lost, don't look at Jackson Wallace. Despite the final result, he went 6-for-10 from beyond the arc to rack up 28 points. The game was Wallace's fifth in a row with at least 16 points. Braydon Hall also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

The win made it two in a row for Massaponax and bumps their season record up to 13-9. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to offensive boards: they averaged an imposing 12.5 offensive rebounds in those games compared to only 12.5 in the others. As for Stafford, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 13 matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season.

Massaponax didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 73-62 loss against Riverbend on the 10th. As for Stafford, they have also already played their next game, a 53-41 victory against Mountain View on the 10th.
