Rio Grande had won six straight at home, but on Wednesday they bumped their record up to 16-9 to make it seven. They put the hurt on the West Mesa Mustangs with a sharp 14-4 victory. The result was nothing new for the Ravens, who have now won ten matchups by nine runs or more so far this season.

As for West Mesa, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-18 record this season. Their loss continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.

For West Mesa's part, they saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Daniel Rodriguez, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double. The Mustangs are 6-1 when Rodriguez posts two or more runs, but 2-17 otherwise. Another was Aven Covarrubias, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run.

Looking ahead, Rio Grande will take on Del Norte at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Ravens are facing the Knights at the right time seeing as the Knights are stuck on a five-game losing streak. West Mesa does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
