Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hillcrest Christian). They blew past the Prentiss Christian Saints 78-18 on Friday. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 60-10.

Hillcrest Christian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Darius Barnes, who shot 56% from the field to rack up 12 points and five steals. Barnes has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Christion Wade was another key player, putting up 13 points.

The victory made it two in a row for Hillcrest Christian and bumps their season record up to 9-4. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 57 points in those games. As for Prentiss Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-7.

Hillcrest Christian will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Copiah Academy at 6:00 p.m. on the 29th. Prentiss Christian and Sylva Bay Academy will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Prentiss Christian's defense better be ready for this one: Sylva Bay Academy has averaged an impressive 51.5 points per game this season.
