Baseball Recap: St. Croix Central Wins Going Away Against Unity

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Fall Creek, St. Croix Central was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Unity Eagles as they made off with a 16-1 victory. The contest marked the Panthers' most dominant win of the season.

Blake Host looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.

On the hitting side, Brett Graese was a standout: he got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Babler, who went 1-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.

St. Croix Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

St. Croix Central's victory bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Unity, they dropped their record down to 3-10 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Croix Central will take on Amery at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Unity, they will challenge Ellsworth at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
