Baseball Recap: Valley Comes Up Short

Valley has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging three runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Wednesday. They fell 11-8 to the Benjamin Russell Wildcats. The Rams were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Wildcats earlier this season, when they won 6-1.

Jax Miller made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-3. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in February. Another player making a difference was Matthew McDonald, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 12-3. As for Benjamin Russell, their win bumped their record up to 6-7.

Looking ahead, Valley will head out on the road to challenge Elmore County at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Benjamin Russell, they will take on Beauregard at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The last three games Beauregard has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
