If Falls Lake was feeling good fresh off their 14-3 takedown of Franklin Academy last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Firebirds lost 9-3 to the Cedar Ridge Fighting Red Wolves on Thursday. The Firebirds' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Jolie Sensenig was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Cameron Kendric, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Falls Lake's defeat dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Cedar Ridge, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Falls Lake will host East Wake Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Firebirds surely won't give up without a fight. As for Cedar Ridge, they will welcome Person at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
