Softball Recap: Pen Argyl Has No Trouble Against Wilson Area

Pen Argyl won the last time they faced Wilson Area and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Green Knights were the clear victors by a 16-1 margin over the Warriors. The Green Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by eight runs or more this season.

Jillian Bradley made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 17 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

In other batting news, Rylee Wentz was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and two runs. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Angie Beltran was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and two RBI.

Pen Argyl always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .733. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The victory made it two in a row for Pen Argyl and bumps their season record up to 13-5. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 1 runs in those games. As for Wilson Area, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-10.

Looking ahead, Pen Argyl will take on Notre Dame-Green Pond at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Wilson Area, they will square off against Notre Dame at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday.
