Basketball Game Preview: Allen Eagles vs. Mansfield Tigers

The Allen Eagles will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against the Mansfield Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Allen will head into Friday's match out to bounce back: they won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Friday. They came up short against Prosper, falling 71-49. While losing is never fun, Allen can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 122nd, while Prosper is ranked 28th).

Meanwhile, Mansfield ended up a good deal behind Boswell on Friday and lost 58-39. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Mansfield's loss dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Allen, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-8.

Everything came up roses for Allen against Mansfield in their previous meeting back in December of 2016, as the squad secured a 56-29 victory. Will Allen repeat their success, or does Mansfield have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
