Basketball Game Preview: GREEN Upstate Owls vs. Dixie Hornets

After both having extra time off, the GREEN Upstate Owls and the Dixie Hornets will dust off their jerseys to challenge one another at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. GREEN Upstate is looking for their season's first victory.

Two weeks ago, GREEN Upstate was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 30-26 to Thornwell.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 63 points the game before, Dixie was a bit more limited in their match two weeks ago. They came up short against Crescent, falling 40-14. The contest marked the Hornets' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

GREEN Upstate will have to keep a close watch on Kerrie O'Shields and Jaylia Turner, a pair of players who had a big impact on Dixie's prior game. O'Shields posted six points along with five rebounds and three steals, while Turner put up four points and three steals. O'Shields is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played.

GREEN Upstate's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Dixie, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.
