Independence never let their opponents score on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 16-0 margin over the Coahoma County Red Panthers. Considering the Wildcats have won seven matchups by more than seven runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Dallas Stepp was a standout: he went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Stepp, who scored three runs and stole two bases.

Independence always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .630. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

The victory was the sixth in a row for Independence, bringing their record up to 10-7. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.5 runs over those games. As for Coahoma County, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Independence has already played their next contest, a 7-0 victory against Holly Springs on the 31st. As for Coahoma County, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 10-0 loss against Riverside on the 5th.
