Volleyball Recap: Irondequoit Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Irondequoit had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Churchville-Chili Saints. For the Eagles, this counts as revenge for the 3-2 victory the Saints walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.

Irondequoit's got stronger as the match went on, holding Churchville-Chili to fewer and fewer points set over set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 27-25, 25-21, 25-19.

Irondequoit found their leader in freshman Olivia Cooley, who had seven digs and three aces. Tori Uloth also deserves some recognition as she had her first dig of the season.

Irondequoit was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 18 consecutive matches.

Irondequoit's win bumped their record up to 17-5-3. As for Churchville-Chili, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.

Irondequoit will be playing in front of their home fans against Greece Athena at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Churchville-Chili, they will welcome Canandaigua Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
