Football Game Preview: Augusta E Eagles vs. David Emanuel Academy Eagles

Augusta E will face off against David Emanuel Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. David Emanuel Academy took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Augusta E, who comes in off a win.

Augusta E is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Georgia's top teams: Community Christian, who was ranked 14th at the time (Augusta E was ranked 13th). The Eagles walked away with a 20-13 win over the Knights on Friday.

Augusta E didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Nathanael Reese and Eli Reese. Augusta E received some extra help from Nathanael, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Meanwhile, David Emanuel Academy played a tough contest last Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against Georgia Christian, falling 60-26. The Eagles gained 117 more yards on the day, but it was the Generals that made the best use of them.

Augusta E will need to focus on slowing down Richard Braddy, one of several David Emanuel Academy players who made an impact when they last played. He rushed for 157 yards and one touchdown while picking up 9.2 yards per carry, and also threw for 146 yards and one TD. Braddy was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 59 yards. Another player making a difference was Hudson Starley, who picked up 116 receiving yards and one score.

Augusta E is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 33.0 points over those games.
