Recap: Port St. Joe Tiger Sharks vs. Wewahitchka Gators

The Port St. Joe Tiger Sharks's five-game losing streak came to an end on Tuesday. They managed a 50-46 victory over Wewahitchka. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Port St. Joe also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.

Port St. Joe found their leader in underclassman KK McNair, who scored 28 points. That's the first time this season that McNair scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayla Hill, who scored ten points.

Port St. Joe's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-6. As for Wewahitchka, they bumped their record down to 2-14 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Port St. Joe won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Bay at 6:00 p.m. on January 17th. Hopefully Bay focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 33 on Tuesday. As for Wewahitchka, they will be playing at home against Jefferson County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
