Softball Recap: Teton Takes a Loss

If Teton was riding high fresh off their 13-0 takedown of Bear Lake last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Timberwolves fell just short of the Sugar-Salem Diggers by a score of 21-19 on Friday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Thursday (13), the Timberwolves still had to take the loss.

Kara Webster and Kadence Hansen stepped up to the plate in a big way. Webster fired off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-6, while Hansen scored four runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. Hansen has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. Maranda Strong also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Teton's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Sugar-Salem, with the victory, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 8-7.

Coming up, Teton will head out on the road to take on Idaho Falls at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Sugar-Salem, they will head out to face off against Preston at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Diggers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Indians have averaged an impressive 8.8 runs per game this season.
