Football Recap: Munday Starts Season with Win on the Road

Munday had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. They claimed a resounding 53-14 win over the Texas Leadership Charter Academy - Abilene Eagles. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 40-0.

Haiden Bowman was a one-man wrecking crew as he rushed for 82 yards and two scores on only six carries, and also threw for 156 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only eight passes. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in passer rating (135.4). Kiyryn Wilson helped out on the ground, rushing for 88 yards and a rushing touchdown.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Munday was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 283 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Texas Leadership Charter Academy - Abilene only rushed for 156 rushing yards.

Munday didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 49-0 victory against Winters on the 5th. As for Texas Leadership Charter Academy - Abilene, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 73-8 defeat against Cross Plains on the 5th.
