Basketball Recap: Pickens Takes a Loss

Pickens was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat. They took a blow against the Daniel Lions, falling 83-22. The matchup marked the Blue Flame's lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Daniel's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Braelin Cumbie, who went 8 of 11 on her way to 17 points and five boards. Cumbie is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Lila Mann, who went 7 for 14 en route to 19 points.

Pickens' loss dropped their record down to 6-15. As for Daniel, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-4.

Pickens will look to defend their home court on Friday against Greer at 6:00 p.m. As for Daniel, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Daniel Lions duke it out with the Seneca Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Daniel is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 63.5 points per game this season.
