Baseball Recap: Southeast Seminoles vs. Bayshore Bruins
Southeast was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 14-8 to the Bayshore Bruins. If the Seminoles were looking for revenge after losing 3-2 to the Bruins when the teams met back in March of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Daniel Martinez-Jimenez put in work no matter where he played. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Martinez-Jimenez was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. Those RBI were his first of the season.
In other batting news, Anderson Gonzalez was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. That hit marked the first that he has got this season. Franklyn Rosa was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and one run.
Southeast's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Bayshore, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.
Looking ahead, Southeast is taking a road trip to face off against DeSoto County at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bayshore, they will host Gibbs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
