Soccer Recap: Shaw Comes Up Short

If Shaw was feeling good fresh off their 12-0 takedown of Kendrick last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Raiders came up short against the Pike County Pirates on Tuesday, falling 9-0. While losing is never fun, Shaw can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 244th, while Pike County are ranked 31st).

Shaw's loss dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Pike County, their victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-2.

Coming up, Shaw will be playing in front of their home fans against Newnan at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Pike County, they have already played their next game, a 4-0 win against Trinity Christian on the 17th.
