Baseball Game Preview: The Heights vs. Burke Bengals

The Heights will face off against the Burke Bengals at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Heights' hitters haven't had much luck over their past five contests, but Friday's match will give them a chance to turn things around.

The Heights lost 10-1 to Our Lady of Good Counsel on Wednesday.

The Heights saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nate Detleff, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. That hit was Detleff's first of the season.

Meanwhile, Burke came up short against School Without Walls on Tuesday and fell 7-4.

Max Gruber was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Hutt, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

The Heights' loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Burke, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Everything went The Heights' way against Burke in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, as The Heights made off with a 12-2 victory. Does The Heights have another victory up their sleeve, or will Burke turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
