Recap: Northwest Mounties vs. Hanover-Horton Comets
The Northwest Mounties scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They snuck past Hanover-Horton with a 79-73 win. The win was a breath of fresh air for Northwest as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
When it comes to explaining why Hanover-Horton lost, one person who can't be blamed is Luke Soper. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 30 points and 14 rebounds. Soper scored a full 41.1% of Hanover-Horton's points, the ninth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Logan Blackledge was another key contributor, scoring 24 points.
Northwest's win bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Hanover-Horton, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-3.
Northwest will head out on the road to face off against Lumen Christi Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on January 6, 2024. Hanover-Horton will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Napoleon at 7:00 p.m. on January 9, 2024.
