Softball Game Preview: Riverdale Rams vs. Hall Red Devils

The Riverdale Rams will take on the Hall Red Devils at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Riverdale's favor as the squad sits on five straight wins at home while Hall has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.

On Monday, Riverdale earned a 5-1 win over Mercer County.

Brie DeBlaey spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on six hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Brooklyn Peterson, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to RBI, as she's now brought in three or more in each of the last six games she's played. Breckin DeLaRosa was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Hall's offense. They lost 16-0 to Princeton on Monday. That's two games in a row now that the Red Devils have lost by exactly 16 runs.

Riverdale has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.1 runs over those games. As for Hall, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-17.

Riverdale took their win against Hall in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 17-1 score. Do the Rams have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Red Devils turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
