Basketball Recap: KIPP Legacy Lions vs. Indianapolis Lutheran Saints
KIPP Legacy had to start their season on the road on Wednesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They took a 62-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Indianapolis Lutheran Saints.
KIPP Legacy lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Nick Mapp, who shot 50% from the field to rack up 22 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Shalon Robinson, who went 6-for-15 on his way to 14 points along with eight assists and five boards.
Indianapolis Lutheran had a senior duo take command as JeVon Perry dropped a double-double with 16 points and 13 rebounds and Jaren Anderson shot 42% from the field en route to 16 points. Another player making a difference was Austin Ridenour, who posted six points.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. KIPP Legacy will challenge Purdue Polytechnic at 7:30 p.m. on December 4. As for Indianapolis Lutheran, they will take on Providence Cristo Rey at 7:30 p.m. on December 5.
