Downey had won three straight home games and Madeline Garcia did her part to make it four on Saturday. The Vikings breezed past the JW North Huskies to the tune of 54-0 with plenty of help from Garcia, who threw for 170 yards and four touchdowns while completing 80% of her passes, and also rushed for 45 yards and a pair of scores. Her passing game has become a key predictor of Downey's success: the team is 4-1 when her passer rating is 110 or higher, but only 1-2 otherwise.

Downey's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for JW North, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Coincidentally, Downey and JW North will both be playing Rancho Cucamonga the next time they take the field. The Huskies will head out to face the Cougars at 10:15 a.m. on Saturday, while the Vikings will play them later in the day, at 11:30 a.m.
